Gabriel Woltjen Schick is a male vocalist, multi-instrumentalist songwriter and performer with global performance experience throughout the past 30 years. While enlisted in the Marine Corps, Gabe had opportunities to perform with the prestigious United States Marine Corps Band, and played drums while stationed in Japan, Thailand, and Australia. Upon completion of service, Gabe became immersed in the SoCal music scene that was so thriving in the mid-to-late 90's, and helped form San Diego-based original bands The Other White Meat, and Sol Reel, as well as sitting in on drums and percussion with critically acclaimed wONKA bAR, also of San Diego. Returning east in 2002, Gabe formed the New Jersey cover band, Gone Bananas, as the band's drummer and band leader, and later, joined Philadelphia-based Alternator Undead original rock band.
After decades of primarily drumming, Gabe headed in a completely new direction in 2007: Solo-Acoustic performance on guitar, steel drum, and lead vocals, under the alias of The Tune Dude. This new endeavor enabled him to creatively combine his many musical influences in ways never before imagined. Combining elements of Country & Western, Southern California Rockabilly, Reggae, Calypso, Jazz, Funk, and Rock, he found a way to take songs from these completely different genres and cover them uniquely on the guitar, steel drum, and vocally.
Today, while performing as Gabe Live, you'll still find him performing on his own as a solo-acoustic act, mostly in tiki bars along the Atlantic Seaboard. But it's possible you may still find him as a guest drummer with a few select groups from time to time.
For those wishing to hire an experienced performer who can light up a room with a contagiously friendly personality, look no further.

***THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT***
[Gabe's] music is an upbeat, mellow mix of folk, reggae, and rock flavored occasionally by stealthily snuck-in jazz chords. He plays many familiar songs: For example, Brown Eyed Girl; Me and Julio; Take the Money and Run; and Jimmy Buffet tunes. I enjoy his relaxed, silver-tongued vocals and his laid-back, likeable stage persona. But Gabe takes a step beyond the likeable ordinary: He is the one-man band reinvented: In addition to strumming a folk guitar, he accompanies himself on an instrument most magical, the steel drum, adapting its exotic sound to all kinds of songs.
"Hey Gabe, just wanted to let u know everyone raved about you! You were exceptional & played the best selection of tunes! Many of our guests asked for your contact info...Thanks so much, you really made our daughter's celebration special!" ~New Jersey Dad (June 2022)
I can honestly say that Gabe has more than outperformed what was expected of him. His music performance business is excellent, skilled, and is of great value or basically it is a great service for a great price! So if you need a musical performance at your next event, hire Mr. Gabe Schick. I've already recommened him to several friends who have enlisted his services and like myself they gave him 5 out of 5 stars.
